Wild Republic Great Horned Owl Cuddlekins

Wild Republic Great Horned Owl Cuddlekins

Specimen notes: ear tufts up, talons out, the whole barred chest correctly marked. The Society's first raptor — kept on a high shelf, which it appears to prefer.

What the Society noted

Fern

The barred chest and ear tufts are marked right — and the tufts are not ears at all but feathers, the real ears hidden and set slightly uneven to pin down sound. A proper raptor rendering, and happiest on a high shelf.

Wonders of the real world

The real great horned owl

Great horned owls live across North America and much of South America.

A great horned owl may thaw frozen prey by 'incubating' it.

Great horned owls can scream, screech, bark, chuckle and even growl.
